The picture is a portrait of a fisherman out on the water, where he holds up a lifebuoy as a frame around his face. A couple of hundred photographs and negatives taken by Dan Samuleson (1893 1980) were collected for the Maritime History Museum in 1968 1969. The photographs are from the 1910s and 1920s and depict harbours, boats and lighthouses, among other things.
